— The Problem. An Italian manufacturer of physiotherapy appliances presented us a new concept of a physical rehabilitation machine that reduces to the minimum the mechanical components with the target of a complete electronic control of the movement. They asked us a complete solution that can demonstrate the feasibility of their new concept.

— Our Solution. Starting from the desired mechanical performances we selected the brushless AC motor (TEM) and a planetary gearbox. Afterwards, basing on the functional specification of the physiotherapy protocols we proceeded to the definition of the control modes of the AZ3 drive, implementing the PLC supervision functions in some custom panels of our TeMec-Interface PC software.
